These are some of the movies, web series, and shows that I’ve watched during this lockdown. Don’t worry there are no spoilers anywhere. Nothing more than what’s shown in trailers.

1. Special Ops — A Bollywood type web series about a 19-year old struggle to catch the 6th terrorist of Parliament attack. The Intelligence officer, whom no one believes, finds this terrorist via many special operations. KK Menon, the lead actor, as he has always been, is amazing in this series too. I would rate this series 8.5

2. Money Heist — It’s a Spanish series about robbing a bank, as the name says. It’s a little slow on the plot but engaging. I’m just in love with Álvaro Morte, the lead actor who plays Professor. Four seasons have done, and there’s still more. Oh, my Professor, it would be hard to say Bella ciao to you! I would rate this series 8

3. Vir Das for India — A standup comedy show by Vir das. I’ve been listening to Vir das for a long time now, and have admired him always. He is by far, the best standup comedian India has ever got. His contents are mostly in English, so the reach to the Hindi audience is not as much as others. His every show is better than his previous one. I would rate this show 9

4. Homecoming King — A standup comedy show by Hasan Minhaj. I’ve enjoyed Hasan from Daily shows — Patriot Act, which is again great stuff btw, I would highly recommend it to watch, but he hasn’t done standup in a while. This was after a long time, and he just nailed it. I would rate this show 9

5. Quarterlife Crisis — A standup comedy show by Taylor Tomilson. She’s just brilliant, I’ve seen clips from Instagram, so I decided to watch the whole show. I wasn’t disappointed. She’s funny, witty & because she’s a millennial, her content is lot relatable. I would rate this show 7

6. Black mirror — It’s a series of individual episodes based on science fiction and drama. I saw 3 new episodes, and they were good. But I’ve seen better episodes of previous seasons. And, Black Mirror is by far, one of the best content Netflix produces. Those who are totally new to this series, I would recommend you to start with the episode — Men Against Fire. I would rate BM 9 and these episodes 7

7. The Big Bang Theory S11 & S12 — I watched the last 2 seasons in bits for over a month. It’s a series about four geeky scientists, much like Friends, but not as good as Friends, and like Friends, it’s always engaging, not boring for even a moment. That’s the beauty of such series we kind of get attached to the characters after 9–10 seasons. And it’s hard to say goodbye to them. And I loved the BBT so much, I’m thinking to write a special article for Sheldon Cooper. I would rate this series 8.5

8. Parasite — It’s a Korean movie portraying class differentiation. I saw this movie because it won four Oscars. The movie is nice, but honestly, I don’t think it was oscar deserving. A lot of movies are better than this. Even the director of this one has made a better one — memories of murder, that could have won oscar. But I can’t complain the movie was good and engaging. I would rate this movie 8

9. The Sky is Pink — A beautiful, emotional movie about a young girl suffering through a rare disease, and her journey with the family. Zaira Wasim, a brilliant actress, the lead actor, is playing this girl with disease. She has acted in only a few movies and has been brilliant in all of them. Unfortunately, she quit Bollywood a few months ago because of critics. I would rate this movie 8

10. Before Sunrise — A simple & sweet movie describing the love tale of a couple and their journey through the night. I saw this one by someone’s suggestion. I would rate this movie 6.5

11. Pearl Harbor — This movie is about the famous Pearl Harbor attack by the Japanese, which was the official start of WWII. Apart from the historical angle, this movie has a love angle between a girl and two best friends. Everything about this movie is just brilliant, the acting, cinematography, action, direction, everything. After a long time, I saw such an amazing movie, I would rate this movie 9

12. Badla — As the name says, this Bollywood movie is about Revenge. And when two great actors of Bollywood — Amitabh Bachchan & Taapsee Pannu put together, they give us such an amazing movie. I would rate this movie 8.5

13. Four more shots, please — An interesting and engaging Hindi series about four girls/ladies who go through a lot of problems and they all help each other at majorly every hurdle. It has shown Feminism in a subtle, nicer way. I would rate this series 7

14. Good newzz — A comedy movie about two couples who try to get pregnant by Vetro fertilization, but their sperm gets exchanged. And like any other comedy-drama, this one also has a lot of light-hearted situations & juvenile sex jokes. New face — Daljit has acted well for his performance along with stars like Akshay Kumar & Kareena Kapoor Khan. I would rate this movie 7.5

15. Up — An animated English movie. It was a long pending in my list which I finally watched a few days ago. It is one of the few animated movies that really leave an impact on the audience after the movie ends. Some nice & touching lovely moments would make us smile. I would rate this movie 8

16. Dia — A Kannada movie, about a girl named Dia, and her love life with two boys. It shows the pure, simple, and realistic romance of the girl but has frequent sad turnings. I felt the director was trying to convey that the sacrifices made by both and girl in any love are mostly equal, and there’s no good person or a bad person if seen from a common perspective. I would rate this movie 8

17. 1917 — It’s a simple story of a messenger-cum-soldier of WWI, who … well, that’s the story. I can’t ruin it. Amazing cinematography & brilliant direction. I would rate this movie 8.5

18. Jojo Rabbit — An amazing movie about a boy named Jojo, and the tragic yet humorous life moments of his childhood during the ongoing WWII. This is probably the first movie that has shown some of WWII moments in humorous ways. I wonder why didn’t this movie get an Oscar for the best movie. It’s a deserving one. I would rate this movie 9

19. Helen — A Malayalam movie about a simple girl named Helen, and about a tragic incident in her life. It shows how her simplicity & kindness is rewarded. The movie teaches one important thing, that is, Kindness is always rewarded. I would rate this movie 7.5

20. She — It’s series about a lady constable of Mumbai police who then becomes an. undercover agent to perform special operations to capture mafia. It’s directed by Imtiaz Ali, but compared to his films, this one’s not as good. I would rate this 7

And finally,

21. Friends — for the 7435th time — C’mon, do I need to give any reason for why I still keep watching this? I would rate this 11 out of 10
