An open letter to all the Minions

I instantly fell in love with that incurably optimistic banana-like creature when I first saw you on that big screen. Your language sounded like gibberish, many of the phrases were unrecognizable, but it felt like connecting heart-to-heart. Now not only I understand your banana language, but I also know that Tulaliloo ti Pwede Amo.

And I bet my life on, to fool myself into believing that I know everything about friendship. But no, the true and unconditional friendship you have for each other which is selfless and so pure of love was unknown to me. This makes us want a least one minion-friend for ourselves in life.

And don’t mind me exaggerating when I say that I have learned a few management lessons from you. The belief to get anything done, no matter how high the mountain to climb, deep the sea to swim or big the vault to break down. I can least believe in myself to give the attempt. Also, I understand one is most productive when they are happy. To celebrate small victories and not to take anything very seriously in life. If Joker from The Dark Knight coined the phrase ‘Why so serious’, you gave it the meaning.

This attitude of optimism, opportunism, and enthusiasm is all anyone needs to survive in the damn world. I call it the minion-attitude. In the world of stern sobers and humorless sedate, you remind me to be that carefree soul that looks at the brighter side and have a good laugh at times.

Thank you so much for everything.
Para Tu Bananonina! Mmuah!
